lookin' at 2020 like:

i love the end of the year. it's hopeful and exciting and rejuvenating in a refining way. i look back at 2019 (and since it's a special kind of looking back since we're closing off the decade) at the falls and growth that i've experienced. and it's humbling to come out of it with a grateful and positive heart. i've learned to get out of my comfort zone, have more fun, be less judgmental, speak my mind, embrace laziness and self-care, and yada yada yada.

we really don't know what the next year or 10 years will bring, but my gut is telling me that it'll be good. real good. cheers for what is ahead! whatever it may be, i hope we can tackle them with grace and have fun while doing it!

new year, new planner

i'm a huge planner. something i've been anticipating to get into and didn't know how or what worked best for me. luckily, i developed the habit on my mission and when i got back i was obsessed with scheduling out my day and was in search for a planner that absolutely called out to me. and i found them! (note: it's good to find your own groove! so take what you like from me and make it all you!)

my planner:

i love using Rifle Paper Co's planners!

  • their planner covers never disappoint, and they come in multiple options and styles so you aren't limited to just one type of planner
  • i looove the weekly layout where it allows you to write things down in a bullet system, or allow you to check things off as needed
  • their font styles aren't overbearing, they classy.
  • and my pens don't bleed through the pages!

my stationary:
i adore using stickers and washi tape on my planner. i used to have this feeling that i was "wasting" my stickers or unsure of what sticker should go where. basically i was overthinking it that now i just plop them anywhere and all of a sudden it was no longer an issue, haha.
  • i place my stickers on my weekly and monthly layout basically anywhere i want or where they make sense to the planned event or occasion
  • i use my washi tape to cover any cancelled plans or mess up's so atleast it looks cute and decorated
  • note that rifle paper co planners come with pretty stickers THAT are sooo easy to remove so they're basically re-usable, so A+
  • the gold clip is a divider that i use to help me get to my week quicker (i bought it at target)
  • i've been using this kate spade pencil pouch for years, it's small enough to fit my essentials and keeps everything organized for me

my pens:
and this pen is THE pen. i swear by this pen and i also buy them in bulk because i have this fear that it'll be gone forever so i gotta stock up somehow. the Zebra Sarasa pen with a 0.7 point allows me to write smoothly, doesn't blot through the page, and i absolutely love how thick it comes out. you think i write all cute? well i owe it to this pen, honestly.

keeping the planner going throughout the year can be hard and un-motivating, but i've found it fun and almost relieving to take a specific time out of the week, to sit down and plan out my next week. it def. gets me pumped for what's ahead! whatever you do in your planning, do what works best for you! make it a space where you write out your goals, note down quotes, jot out your grocery lists, etc!

happy planning & happy-almost-2020!

the most ideal girls brunch ever

this room is heaven. almost everything is less than $15 from greeting cards, calendars, planners, and artwork!
the freshest grapefruit and rosemary fizz drink around
becca ordered the cheddar biscuit sandwich!
i ordered the spinach mushroom quiche!
i commend the designers of this restaurant. most of the time i just want to stop by this place because of how beautiful it is inside. a fun art deco inspired style.

anytime there's a girls day with any of my girlfriends, it's gonna be a good day. BUT, any girls day that calls for brunch and dessert at The Glass Knife, AND AND AND a sidewalk sale at Rifle Paper Co. is gonna be an extra good day!! Rifle Paper Co. is a paper/stationary  company (and more) with the cutest illustrations of pretty florals and whimsical characters. they have a sidewalk sale (when florida permits it since rain here is unpredictable on a day-to-day basis) like three times a year, where most of their inventory goes to 70% off!

my girl becca, and i, started our saturday morning off by checking out the sale. i got my new 2020 planner which was originally $36 but i snagged it at the sale for only $10!!!  i got other things like washi tape and recipe cards. then we had a yummy brunch at one of our favorite places which we discovered together last year!

i strive for mornings like this.

3 months with you

i've learned a lot in those moments of being vulnerable and anxious, from you. to think we've been dating for so long, there is no cap to our progression. we talk daily of our hopes and dreams and goals for the future or for the end of the week and in those moments we keep learning more and more about each other. if there is one word that sums up the past three months with you, its the word growth. so grateful to share things with you that results in me being better or striving for a better life now and forever.

life update

married life is so nice and convenient! the days of having to plan when or where to see each other/ hang out are over! we're living in an apartment closer to school so the commute is a little lighter on us (lighter on me atleast, I4 can be such a pain), and we're learning more about each other every single day, which keeps things interesting. now planning date nights are more of the challenge for us because we got a new pup lol
her name is Friday (we named her after Iron Man's AI!) she's a yellow labrador retriever. she keeps us on our toes when she's playful, bite-y, a super sweetheart and sleepy all the time. she's learned how to sit, high-five, lay, and speak, and we've also mastered walking down the stairs (which is crucial since we live on the third floor lol.)
chopped off 22" of hair! it's been getting caught in between our toes in the apartment and i've been needing a change in style. plus i have a really bad habit of peeling my split ends so this is another way to help me cope with my boredom/anxieties throughout the day!

i've been setting goals on making this blog more present in my life, just by updating it as we go. and i think i've finally found that groove. let's hope for more updates and cheers to the simple and everyday things that keep me (and hopefully you, too) goin'!

honeymoon in paris part 4: disneyland

flowers, everywhere!! my kind of disney trip.

you can roam inside princess aurora's castle (which is wayyy cooler than cinderellas in my opinon). her story is told on the stain glass windows, sculptures, and murals. all in french too! and underneath the castle is a sleeping dragon! cute little details in this park alright!

one of the hottest days in france! nothing we weren't used to lol but we thought it was hilarious as we were walking around the park to find these mist stations and a crowd of people hovered underneath them lol

yummiest disney buffet we've been to! the food tasted so fresh

(it only takes 30 mins for main street to be clear of the crowd when the fireworks ended!! vs. disneyworld taking almost 2 hours for main street to be completely empty!)

ofcourse, we ended our last day of our honeymoon doing something disney related! and we absolutely loved it! disneyland paris was  similar and different in some ways. the wait times was usually a 10 minute to 30 minute wait,  it was still busy but if we compared it to the crowds in disney world it would be one of the slowest days lol. space mountain was star wars themed and it was the coolest ever, and we swear rockin rollercoaster was like 20 mph faster than the one at hollywood studios. you can also do the entire park if you really wanted to too! it was so fun, and ending it with the fireworks just made the night.
